Dear Nobody,
Today is cloudy and there are puddles on the ground. I think it rained last night, although the puddles could be from the sprinklers. Have I mentioned that The University of Not Hogwarts loves their grass? It's crazy. I feel like half my tuition goes to the grass. They run the sprinklers daily, and it's so tempting to run through them. I would, except that it would get my books all wet. That would be great:

Professor So&So, I'm really sorry that my homework and books are all wet. You see, the sprinklers were on as I was walking to class, and I really, really, couldn't resist them. I'm sure you understand that I can no longer participate in class. Once again, I'm sorry.
Sincerely, Annabelle
Sincerely, Annabelle
Yeah, that would go over well.
Someday, mark my words, I will play in those sprinklers. If I ever don't have books or my phone with me, I will do it. I will also bring my future children here someday so they can play in the sprinklers. Because that would be an awesome mommy-thing to do.
This week on campus, we have a lot of missionaries here who come to our classes and speak about what they do. It's very cool. Last night at my Bible study, we had a panel of missionaries that talked about the persecution that happens to Christians in their countries. It was very interesting and humbling. I so often forget that I'm so blessed here in America to worship God freely. I don't take advantage of that fact as often as I should.

Tuesday was the Pro-Life Day of Silent Solidarity, which is where people place red duct tape with the word "life" on it over their mouths and remain silent for a day in remembrance of the millions of babies who have died since the passing of Roe vs. Wade. I had never heard of it before, but there was information around campus and my neighbor told me about it, so I decided to participate. It was really hard not to talk all day (well, from 7:30 AM to 7:00 PM). However, it was totally worth it. I grew by being silent; as I would walk to class people would look at me funny, and in one of my classes people were kind of joking around about it. I realized that, just as I couldn't defend myself, the babies who are being murdered can't defend themselves either. It makes me sad. At the end of the day, all of the people who wore the tape and some other students joined together for pizza and to watch the 180 movie. I had seen the 180 movie with my high school's pro-life group, but I had forgotten how impactful it is. It's a 30 minute documentary where a man goes around and interviews random people... I don't know how to explain it but you should totally watch it. Here's the link. |
Random thought of the day:
Why don't people wear socks with flip flops more often? I mean, it's super comfortable. My feet get cold really easily, so I like wearing socks. Sometimes, however, I need to go outside for something but I don't want to put on my pair of Converse for such a quick trip. So what do I do? I wear socks with flip flops. It's great. Like today, I needed to run out to my car, and I would have just done it in my socks, but, as I said before, it's wet today. So I went like this:

I think that's about it for now.
