Dear Nobody,
Wow! October flew by! It seems like it just started, and now it's gone :( So crazy...
Speaking of crazy, this past week was pretty crazy and busy.
Let me recap:
Monday:
Monday was my friend's birthday, so her parents came into town and took Birthday Girl, myself, and three of our other friends out for dinner at a cute little Italian restaurant. That was a great time of fellowship and fun.
Monday was also the day I stayed up late (elevenish) studying with my neighbor for our New Testament exam.
Tuesday:
Tuesday was the day of my second New Testament exam. It was terrifying. In addition, Tuesday was the day of my second Speech for Public Speaking class; also terrifying. Needless to say, I was very stressed out and worried on Tuesday.
At the end of the day, once I got back on campus after work, I sat on a swing outside of my dorm to de-stress. One of my dear friends soon joined me and I loved getting to talk to her. She had a lab practical on Wednesday, and so she was stressing a little about that. I think Tuesday was just an overall stressful day.
Wednesday:
Wednesdays are always crazy for me. This Wednesday was my church's Harvest Fest. That was really fun and a nice change of pace. There was a chili cook off and pony rides and a bunch of other fun games for the kids. I was in charge of the pumpkin ring-toss booth. The little kids were adorable! The University of Not Hogwarts' Drama Ministry team preformed a Human Video at the Fest to Matthew West's song "The Motions." It was very powerful and moving.
Thursday:
On Thursday I didn't have any classes (awesome!) and neither did my roommate. We decided to take our friend (the one who had the lab practical) and go out to eat for lunch. We went to a new little sandwich and soup restaurant. It was very delicious. Then, we shopped at Charming Charlies (love that store!) and grabbed ice cream at my favorite ice cream parlor.

Thursday evening I also attended a piano/singing recital for two of the girls from my high school (well, they're in middle school, but the high school is in the same building as the middle school... so I'm confused about how to label them. Oh wells. Y'all know what I mean). They were amazing!
Friday:
Friday was Halloween. Every year, the University of Not Hogwarts lets the faculty's children trick or treat at the various buildings on campus. I helped pass out candy at my dorm for an hour with some of my friends. That was so much fun!

After that, I met my best friend for dinner, and then we met some of our friends to watch the Miss Not Hogwarts Pageant.
Friday night was the talent portion of the pageant. One girl demonstrated the mating calls of certain exotic birds. Another taught the audience how to online shop. Yet another did an evolution of dance routine... in the dark... with glow sticks on her... My two favorite talents, however, are as follows: One girl played the ukulele while giving a Spoken Word about how the ukulele relates to our relationship with God; Another girl sang "For the First Time in Forever" from Frozen but changed the lyrics to relate to her experience at the University of Not Hogwarts.
Saturday:
There was a home football game on Saturday, and one of my bestest friends from preschool came into town for it. She's going to be attending Not Hogwarts next fall, and so it was exciting to experience her first Not Hogwarts game with her. (And, by the way, Not Hogwarts won. Yay!!)

Later that night was the second night of Miss Not Hogwarts. This was the evening gown/talent recap/ interview/ crowning night. It was so beautiful and well done. I loved watching the pageant. It was amazing to see how much the girls had grown with God and with each other over the past six weeks of working on the pageant.
Well, that's the end of the recap!
Talk to you later!
Blessings,
